Since 1914, the Clouse family has been serving the Northern Michigan Area. It was founded by Earl Fury, who was married to Clara Clouse, in 1914 as the Glennie Mercantile Company. In the mid 30’s it was sold to his brother in law Frank Dear, who was married to Mae Clouse. In 1947 Al Clouse bought the business from his Uncle Frank after returning home from serving in WWII. Years later Al and his wife Connie, built a new store where the Glennie Ace Hardware is located. It was called Al’s General Store and IGA Supermarket.

Years later, his son Roger and grandson Byron put the same concept into one building in Oscoda. Roger’s is a two part store with Roger’s Family Foods and Oscoda Ace Hardware being under one roof.

For over 100 years the Clouse Family has been serving Northern Michigan in the grocery and hardware retail business. The same idea that has lasted for over 100 years is still most important today, and that is customer service.
Today, you can order your groceries online, and Roger’s will have them ready for pickup for you. This feature is designed to make your grocery shopping experience as easy as possible.

4 generations later, and customer service is still and always will be most important.
